Money saving tips!

No frills airlines: If you simply want to get from A to B then no-frills airlines may be perfect for you. By eliminating non-essential features and services, they are able to offer genuinely competitive rates. If you choose this method of flying, be prepared for minimum levels of comfort and no complimentary drinks or snacks. There are a number of no frills airlines on the market, namely; Ryanair, Easyjet and Flybe to name just a few.

Alter your journey details: You will notice that flight prices vary considerably between different airports and the time of year or day that you want to fly. Flying midweek, outside the school holidays or during unsociable hours, for example, tends to be much cheaper. If the prices of your flights are coming up a little high, try altering some details on your flight using the search filters; you may be surprised by how much you can save!

Watch out for hidden extras: If budget is your main concern, some of the cheaper airlines will offer great deals. Just be aware of hidden extras that may be introduced after your flight has been selected. These might include additional fees for flight insurance or hold luggage.

Air miles: If you are a frequent flier, consider becoming a member of an airline so that you will be awarded air miles each time you fly which can then be used to help fund your next flight. Alternatively you can speak to your bank to get a credit card that earns you airmiles or you can approach a lender like American Express to see if you can get an airmiles credit card through them.
