Broadband Buying Guide

Broadband was a breath of fresh air and revolutionized the internet in the early 2000's. Prior to that households and business had to connect to the internet by dialing a connection through our telephones. Connection speeds were painfully slow on modems which connected at 56Kb. To put a comparison in place, an 8Mb connection is 800Kb and we used to use a 56Kb connection.

This obviously made it very difficult and slow to download anything apart from small pictures and text. The other major drawback was that dial up internet took up the full use of the telephone line. This meant that whilst you were surfing the internet, other people could not use the telephone. In the majority of cases a persons home will be the largest asset that invest in. You will therefore want to take the best care of it and it is important to consider how you will insure it. Home insurance is generally covered by two types of insurance; buildings insurance and contents insurance.

Buildings insurance is taken out to cover the physical structure of your house. This means fixtures and fittings including things like the walls, ceilings, roof, doors, fitted kitches, windows, bathroom fittings and built in cupboards. You will find that a large number of policies will also cover outdoor structures as well. Since then digital TV has become incredibly popular and the combined drop in price for digital television units, coupled with the incredible deals from digital TV providers have made them surge in popularity.
